Quiet Friday Evening

After a long week of vacation I needed a quiet evening that didn’t involve a plane or car for an extended period of time… So, Eric was nice enough to join me for trolling some crank baits at a small local lake. We didn’t get out on the water until about 5:45 and we where off the water by 8:30.  But tonight, was much more about relaxing than going after the monster. Not expecting much we wanted to focus on trying to get some wipers but didn’t really care what we picked up. All in all it was an eventful night. We almost always had good action but no real big fish. Lots of white bass 25+, 7 wipers all under 15 in, 6 cat fish, 4 crappie and a partridge in a pear tree… Great night out lots of good action. We trolled a very sharpe break that went from 8 to 15 and the fish seemed to be hanging right on the break, not a  bad Friday night…

By the way, did I mention Eric might be one of the toughest guys I know… Eric had the bad luck of burying a hook full barb in the palm of his hand taking a wiper off the hook tonight. Now the impressive part was, I watched him use a pair of hemostats to pull the hook out and keep going. After a couple of quick sips from his beverage he was good to go.  Not this kid… ERIC, YOU THE MAN!!
