The crappie spawn started last Friday the 25th for the most of KS. So when a strong front hit this week I expected most of the fish to pull off the banks and head for deeper water with highs in the 50’s and lows in the 40’s. Eric and I head out to Clinton to find just that, the crappie where still biting on black and chartreuse jigs. We found them suspended 10 ft down on 12 to 15 ft of water. As the sunset they made the expected run at the rocks and we caught a fair number in 4 ft of water right at sunset. We even picked up 3 bonus wipers this evening!
