Hello Everyone and Happy East and Pass Over! I only had a few hours Saturday morning before the family hit town so I wanted to try and chase a crappie real fast since I have not been out in several weeks. With having such a short time I opted for the quick and easy… dock fishing at Hillsdale.
I got there there just before it open at 7 am. The blood moon was setting and it was cold, 29 this morning. I started off dropping jigs down to some suspended PVC with no luck. I did how ever get a few light brushes on my jib making me think I should down size to a 1/32 oz with a small jig body and boy did it worked. Fishing from there on was steady yielding 20 fish and 11 being keepers ranging in size from 10 to 12 inches. Red and chart was the best color and 15ft of water was the magic depth. The blood is starting to run into the eggs but they are not runny by any means. Of the 11 keepers 3 where male so we still have a few weeks until the show starts.
